Counselling & Support

Counselling & support is offered by Jan Van De Ven and Liesl Mahood.

Counselling is professional guidance of the individual by utilizing psychological methods. Collecting case history, data, using various techniques of the personal interview and testing interests and aptitudes.

Counselling is about trying to make the client feel empowered enough to work through their own issues in a safe, and nonjudgmental environment. It is not about giving advice or offering sympathy. It is about having empathy and enabling the person to find their own "right to answer". Counselling is when you can communicate one-on-one with someone who is genuine and caring of you and your issues, helping you to teach yourself how to make changes in your life and offering you confidentiality and respect as a human being.

Counselling is for normal people with normal everyday problems in need of support with an emphasis in personal and social growth.
